Thomas Aarsvold, 71, passed away Monday April 15, 2019 at “The Villa” Health Center in Minneapolis, MN, where he had resided due to failing health. The family would like to thank the staff of The Villa and especially Heartland Hospice in their care for him during this past year.
Thomas Peter Aarsvold was born November 9, 1947 to Phillip and Joyce (Morrill) Aarsvold in Dodge Center, MN. He was the seventh child of twelve: Patricia, David, Jack, Steven, Charlotte, Sharon, Thomas, Christine, Clifford, Daniel, Theodore, and Rebecca. Tom gained two more siblings, Mark and Tamara, with the marriage of Phillip and Violet (Brachvogel). He also gained a step-brother with the marriage of Joyce and Norval Bacon.
Tom graduated from Faribault High School. He worked in a bakery doing what he loved – making doughnuts. On September 26, 1969 Tom was united in marriage to Nancy Thraen and to this union a daughter, Delores, was born. They later divorced. A daughter, Hailey, was born to Tom and Donna Eggert in 1994.
Tom is survived by his two daughters, Dee (Dan) Clark of Rochester and Hailey Olson of Northfield; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings, David (Clara) Aarsvold of Dodge Center; Jack of Fountain Hills, AZ; Char (Al) Hamm of Orlando, FL; Sharon (Robert) Gangloff of Northfield; Chris (Woody) Laughnan of Rocklin, CA; Dan of Spring Valley; Ted (Jill Anderson) of Grand Meadow; Rev. Becky (Rev. Rick) Senner of Howard, SD; and Mark (Ruth) Aarsvold of Bastrop, TX. Tom is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step-parents, siblings: Patricia Lenton, Steven Aarsvold, Cliff Aarsvold, and Tamara Aarsvold; sister-in-law Csilla Aarsvold; and brother-in-law, Rod Lenton.
The family will be holding services for Tom at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday May 30, 2019 at South Zumbro Lutheran Church, 4830 120th Ave SW, Kasson, MN 55944. Burial will be held at the church cemetery.
