Virginia Lee Biwer

On March 8, 2023, we lost our Mom & Grandma, Virginia Lee (Tilford) Biwer.  Mom was known as “Ginny” to most people, however Dad called her “My Jeanie”.

Ginny was Fiercely Independent, Sassy and Strong Willed.  She loved her family with all her heart and was a Proud Farm Wife, Homemaker and Amazing Cook.  She loved her pets almost as much as her children, and enjoyed sports, crosswords and making her famous chocolate cake or brownies.  You never left her house hungry.   There was always coffee, cookies or a full course meal.  As she would say, “there’s enough!”

Ginny was born October 1, 1945, in Rochester MN to Alvin & Margaret (Cochran) Tilford.  She was the last of the “Tilford Ten”.

On October 2, 1965, she married James Biwer in Rochester, MN.  They farmed north of Rochester, MN before moving to Kasson in 1974 to expand their farming operation.  They were married for 57 years when Jim passed away on October 18, 2022.  Together they raised four children.

She is survived by her children, Tim (Darcy) of Wasioja, Pat of Elba, Shannon (Tony) Paulson of Mantorville and Mike of Wasioja; grandchildren,  Alixandra & Ben Verchota, Dakota, Erin, Jacob, Joe, Nick, Jimmy, Hannah, Jack, Charlie, Megan & Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Suzanne Overland, Liz Nagel, Ruth Schoenfelder; six brothers, Jack, Jerry, Jim, Bill, Rick and Bob Tilford and one grandchild.

A graveside service will be held this Spring.

We cherish the thought that Mom & Dad are together again and Dad has “His Jeanie” back in his arms.
