The funeral service for Vivian LaVerne Johnson will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104 1st Street SE in Hayfield, MN with Reverend Myrwood Bagne officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield, MN.
Vivian LaVerne Johnson, 81, of Rochester, MN and formerly of Hayfield, MN died on June 27, 2009, at The Homestead Memory Care Unit in Rochester, MN.
Vivian LaVerne Sollie was born on August 28, 1927, in Fremont, IA the daughter of Otto and Bertha (Johnson) Sollie. She attended Austin High School. Vivian was united in marriage to Marshall Johnson on October 20, 1945, in Austin, MN. Vivian was a homemaker and was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church and the Hayfield Community. Vivian was a business partner with her husband, Marshall, engaged in crop farming and livestock production. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, baking, decorating and arranging flowers. She was very proud of her Norwegian Heritage.
Vivian is survived by one son, Duane (Sarah) Johnson, Byron, MN; four daughters, Linda (Lowell) Heydt; Lake Crystal, MN; Tammy (Michael) Stevens, Hayfield, MN; Robin (Michael) Brekke, Hartland, MN; Bridget (Scott) Oslund, Lakeville, MN; 4 sisters, Lois Dolan, Austin, MN; Mavis (Don) Bartley, Austin, MN; Janice (Bob) Tucker, Rochester, MN; Sue (Dale) Apold, Austin, MN; 2 brothers, Jerry (Pat) Sollie, Las Vegas, NV; David (Mary) Sollie, Aurora, CO; 10 grandchildren, Nate and Meg Heydt; Kortney and Een Johnson; Brittany and Brady Stevens; Mitch and Jenna Brekke; Bryce and Bennett Oslund; 5 great grandchildren, Tenzin and Rilo Heydt; Elisabeth Pavone; Kylie Johnson, and Maeva Weizel. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marshall Johnson, on January 16, 1998; and 1 sister, Bonnie Larson.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church.
