Walter Larkin Coleman

Walter Larkin Coleman, 93, of Kasson, MN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Edenbrook Care Center in Rochester, MN.

Walter was born on December 15, 1930, in Chicago, IL to Walter and Lela Mae (Allen) Coleman.  He married Dolores Nelson on January 20, 1951, in Chicago, IL.  They moved to Kasson, MN in 1988.  Over the years, he worked several different jobs in Kasson including, Erickson Hardware, Kasson Liquor Store, and the Kasson Variety Store.  At a young age, he enjoyed working on cars.  He was an avid antique collector, including many different types of dishware.  He also loved doing jigsaw puzzles and crosswords.

Walter is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dolores Coleman of Kasson, MN; children, Barbara Collette of Anoka, MN, Ruth (Dutch) Hempel of Sierra Vista, AZ, Judith (Robin) Thompson of Kasson, MN, Charles (Sally) Coleman of Kasson, MN, Mary Ann Mollert of Kasson, MN, Walter (Jennifer) Coleman of Elgin, IL, Harry (Doreen) Coleman of Kasson, MN and Irene (Keith) Davis of Joliet, IL; daughter-in-law, Mary Lorraine of Monticello, MN; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Michael Allen Coleman, Rosemary Lynette Coleman, foster son, Russell Iaquinto; sons-in-law, John Collette and James Mollert; and brother, Donald Coleman.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1904 Mantorville Ave N in Kasson, with Father John Lasuba officiating.  Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Margaret’s Catholic Cemetery in Mantorville, MN.
