William “Bill” Michael Carter, 74, of Mantorville, MN, passed away Monday May 20, 2019 in his home when his battle with cancer came to an end. William was born on December 14, 1944 in Plainview, MN to William and Jean (Lehnertz) Carter. He attended school in Plainview and graduated in 1962. He served in the United States Army Reserves.
On April 8,1967 he married Carol Mullenbach at St Joachim’s Catholic Church in Plainview, MN. William worked for Ford Motor Company for 18 years and later retired in April 2011 from Minnesota DOT. He enjoyed tinkering on old cars, camping with his family, target shooting, welding, building, and repairing things.
William is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol (Mullenbach) Carter; three children, Cherrise (Robin) Anderson, Jessica (Jamie) Fahrendholz, and William (Courtney) Carter; eight grandchildren, Devyn (Cody) Winkelman, Darik Anderson, Danielle Anderson, Madison Pratt, Sophia Pratt, William (Hayden) Carter, Reed Fahrendholz, Will Fahrendholz, and two great grandsons, Archer and Axel Winkelman. William was proceeded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.
Friends and family may join together in a Celebration of Life for Bill Saturday June 1, 2019 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes, 801 7th St SE Kasson, MN. A short ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. with lunch fellowship afterward.
