WYNTON PETER CHRISTIANS

The funeral service for Wynton Peter Christians will be 10:30 Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the United Methodist Church 20 ~ 1st Street & 1st Avenue NE in Dodge Center with Reverend Dave Westlake officiating. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Concord Township Cemetery in Garner, IA.
Wynton Peter Christians, 88, died Sunday evening, March 27, 2011, at Field Crest Care Center in Hayfield, Minnesota.
Wynton Peter Christians was born on May 30, 1922, the son of Peter Elmer and Vernie Margaret (Johnson) Christians in Garner, IA. He graduated from Ventura High School in 1939. Wynton attended Hamilton Business College for one year. His army service was from December 1942-1945. He worked for Standard Oil for ten years including service time. Wynton and Muriel Wagner were joined in Holy Matrimony on July 16, 1950, at the Methodist Church in Rockford, IA. They farmed in Hayfield, Garner and Britt, IA and finally moving to Minnesota. Wynton worked for OMC at Owatonna and Fold Craft in Kenyon, MN. He retired in 1989.
Wynton is survived by his children, Gary (Martha) Christians, Lehigh, IA; Michael (Signe) Christians; one daughter-in-law, Kim Christians, Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Lee, Jay, Meg, Danny, Jennifer and Mary. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two sons, Lynn and Paul Christians; one daughter, Linda; his sister, June Mott; and one grandson, Thomas Christians.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 Wednesday at the Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Dodge Center, MN and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday.
