FLORENCE GWENDOLYN ROBERTS NORMAN

Florence Gwendolyn Roberts Norman, 92, of Dodge Center, MN passed away at Circle Drive Assisted Living in West Concord, MN on July 13, 2017.

Florence was born on June 26, 1925, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Lloyd) Roberts in Judson, MN. She was one of ten siblings.

Florence was united in marriage to George Norman on November 4, 1945, in Lake Crystal. Florence and George farmed for 14 years in the Lake Crystal area. After George's farm accident they moved to Dodge Center, where George was a Farm Bureau Agent and Florence started working in Smith’s Bakery in Dodge Center and retired in 1989, after working at the bakery for 28 years. In the fall of 1989, she started working for Vernon Funeral Home, which is now Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes and Crematory. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dodge Center and very active in the Ladies Circles and Fairview Nursing Home Auxiliary. Florence was a kind and caring person and very proud of her Welsh heritage.

Florence is survived by her daughters, Darlene and Al Ashley, Inver Grove Heights, MN; Sharon and Roger Anderson, Blooming Prairie, MN; 5 grandchildren, Ellen (Justin) Massicotte, Patrick (Leslie) Ashley, Valoree (Scott) Methner, Christine (Adrian) Anderson, and Michelle (Mike) Frazier. 12 great grandchildren, Sydney and Isaac Massicotte, Gregory and Kaitlyn Ashley, Jack and Sara Methner, Eli, Adrik, Linnea, and Luka Anderson, Eden and Lyla Frazier, and one sister, Sandy and John Hillmer, sisters-in-law, Maxine Norman and MaryAnn Norman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George, and 8 of her siblings.

Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 25 South Street SW in Dodge Center and one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.

The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. July 22, 2017, at the United Methodist Church, First Avenue and First Street NE in Dodge Center. Interment will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery in Lake Crystal, MN at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the United Methodist Church or Circle Drive Manor Assisted Living.
